Pendle Paddlers at Bowley

Wednesday, 06 June 2007 00:54 | Written by Tony Hopwood | PDF Print E-mail
Over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, all over the UK, around half a million Cubs and Scouts were on camp to celebrate 100 years of scouting.

1500 of those camped at Bowley and 300 Beavers came for the day.

There were lots of activities such as zip slide, bungee slide, climbing, kayaking and many, many more.

Pendle Paddlers provided the kayaks and coaches, which  over a 6 hour period, gave around 300 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts an opportunity to have a go at kayaking around the pond.

Everyone got about 5 minutes each on the water, which isn't a lot but hopefully it may have given them a taster of what great fun kayaking can be .

Have a look at the Gallery for some of the images
